DALLASTOWN, June 16 - Harry Riedel, former borough council member, died at 6:30 o'clock last night at his residence, 150 South Charles street. Death was due to a complication of diseases, following a lingering illness. He was 64 years old. Mr. Riedel also served several terms as a member of the council of Christ Lutheran Church. He held membership on the council when the present church was erected. Mr. Riedel also belonged to the Men's Bible Class of the Sunday school, taught by Howard Perry. He was a son of the late John and Susan Kauffman Riedel. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Elsie H. Hoffman Riedel; two children, the Rev. Gerald Riedel, Fayetteville, Pa., and Mrs. Bruce Snyder, at home; three grandchildren, two sisters, Mrs. Edward Eberly, Red Lion R. D. 1 and Mrs. Spencer Orwig, Howard street, and a brother, Philip Riedel, St. Petersburg, Fla. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p. m. Thursday at Eberly Funeral Home, with concluding obsequies at Christ Lutheran Church. The Rev. Maynard S. Barnhart Jr. pastor of Christ Lutheran Church Spry, and the Rev. S. L. Moore of Trinity E.U.B. Church here will officiate. Interment will be in the Union Cemetery, here.

Harry was a cabinet maker for Colonial Products. He started working there in 1937.
He died from the complications of Bright's Disease.
