Graveside services for George Quenton Russell of Thackerville, OK, will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, May 30, 2019, in Leon Cemetery, Leon, OK, under the direction of Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Marietta, OK. Officiating will be his nephew, Thomas Russell.
Born July 31, 1924 in Leon, the son of Will Russell and Lottie Ward Russell, he passed away Sunday, May 26th, at the age of 94 at his residence.
George attended school at Courtney. He lived in Coppell, TX for 15 years, migrating back to Oklahoma in 1981. George married Billie Louise Collins December 20, 1947 in Gainesville, TX and she preceded him in death on September 23, 2002. He was an aviation warehouseman, who enjoyed fishing, boating and tending to his cattle. George was a member of the Church of Christ in Marietta since 1981.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Harmon and Bud Russell.
He is survived by two sons, Euel A. Russell and wife Jessie of Thackerville and Randell Q. Russell and wife Sue of Thackerville; two sisters, Doris Carlile of Denton, TX and Evelyn Hood of Denton; four grandchildren, Shelly, Jennifer, Chris and Kevin; and three great-grandchildren, Cameron, Ophelia and Austin.
