Arnoldus was the son of Gijsbert Wilms (1756-1812) and Helena Janssen Van Turent (1759-1810). He married Hendrina Hermanus Verstegen on Feb. 4, 1820 in Zeeland, Noord Brabant, Netherlands . He and Hendrina, and some of the children, set sail for America arriving in May, 1850. They settled in the area of Woodville, Calumet Co., Wisconsin, farming most of their lives. He died in 1868, exact date unknown.
