James Terrell Martin, Jr., was born June 8, 1924 in Nixon, Texas to James Terrell and Rachel Hensley Martin. After graduation from Nixon High School, Jimmy traveled to England with the U.S.A.F. during World War II. There he met his future wife. He married Betty Dorothea Isherwood on August 10, 1946 in Nixon, Texas.

Jimmy was a devoted member of the Nixon Lions Club, a lifetime member of the Nixon-Smiley A.F. & A.M. #985, a member of the Scottish Rite, and a 32nd Degree Mason in the Alzafar Shrine.

He is survived by one daughter, Jill Seahorn and husband Pon of Ozona; grandson, Will Seahorn and wife Mindy and their children Kaylee, Weston, Schraeder and Luke; and granddaughter, Terel Seahorn. He is also survived by one sister-in-law, Peggy Sanson of Warrington, England and numerous nieces and nephews.

His wife, Betty, passed away in May 2009 after sixty-two years of marriage. He was also preceded in death by three sisters: Lucille Dunn, Doris Montgomery, and Lily Jo Polan.

The Funeral Service will be held Saturday, February 13th at 2:00 PM at the First United Methodist Church in Nixon with Pastor Rhonda Troll officiating. Interment will follow at the Nixon Cemetery.
