Obit. Nielsen, Marie (Tranberg) 1875-1950
Funeral services for Mrs. N. C. Nielsen, 74, of Marcus will be held Friday afternoon, May 19th, 1950, at the Peace Lutheran church with Rev. R. W. Meyer officiating.
Mrs. Marie Nielsen, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Chris Tranberg, was born in Denmark, June 9, 1875. She was one of a family of three sisters and one brother, all deceased. At the age of 18 years, she emigrated to America with her parents, in 1893.
On December 27, 1907, she married N.C. Neilsen at Blair, Nebr., and soon afterward they moved to a farm south of Marcus where they lived the greater part of their married life. Mrs. Neilsen and her husband retired and moved to their home in Marcus in 1945 where Mrs. Nielsen died Tuesday, May 16, 1950, after a lingering illness.
Survivors are her husband, N.C. Neilsen, and six sons: Walter, Roy and Charles of Marcus, LeLand, Roy and Leonard of Remsen, and twelve grandchildren. Burial will be in the Marcus and Amherst cemetery.
