Ill Only Short Time, Dies Monday Night At Hospital
George S. Adams, Lower Muscatine Road, died at 10 o'clock Monday night at a local hospital following a short illness.
The son of James and Rebecca Adams, he was born August 24, 1868, at Taylor Ridge, Ill. He moved to Kansas with his parents when a child, and later moved to Rock Island, Ill.
He came to Johnson county about 45 years ago.
He was married to Margaret McConnell of Milan. She died July 14, 1936.
Surviving are two sons, Glenn, of the Panama Canal Zone, and Marvin, of Iowa City; one sister, Mrs. Stephen Schuessler, with whom he lived; four brothers, Edwin and James of Douglas, Ariz., Milton, of Julian, Calif., and Lorenzo, of El Centro, Calif., and four grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 o'clock tomorrow afternoon at the Oathout funeral home with the Rev. Ilion T. Jones of the Presbyterian church in charge. Burial will be in the Oakland cemetery.
