Reverend Bert G. Beck, died at Johnson county Memorial hospital today at the age of 91. Rev. Beck, who had served as a Metnocust minister in more than 14 Indiana communities and had baptized 1,500 members Into the church had been a resident of the Indiana Methodist Home since 1964. As a minister he had perform ed 765 weddings in his career and conducted 1,078 funerals. Rev. Beck had been a Methodist minister In Indianapolis, Terre Haute, Connersville, Arlington. LaFayette, Greencastle and numerous other Indiana cit ies. A member of the Northwest Indiana Conference of the Methodist Church, he graduated from DePaul University and held a doctor's degree from Boston University. Rev. Beck had been ill in recent months and had been a patient at the Johnson county hospital since February 17. Born February 26. 1876 in Union County, Indiana, he was the son of Joseph and Margaret Maze Beck. He married Doretha Knott on August 3, 1959. A son Paul Arthur Beck, passed away In Feburary of 1957. Rev. Beck Is survived by a sister, Molly Layson of Connersville and a grandson, Bruce Beck of Indianapolis.
