Sophie Fuss
Mrs. Sophie R. Fuss, 71, of Ord died Thursday at an Ord hospital. Entered into eternal rest Thursday, Sept. 4, 1975.
Services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church in Ord with the Rev. Michael Rogers officiating. Burial will be in the Ord City Cemetery. Visitation hours were to have been from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Ord Memorial Chapel.
Mrs. Fuss was born Oct. 6, 1903, in Valley County, the daughter of Herman and Mary Klein Bredthauer. She graduated from the Scotia High School and grew to womanhood in that area.
She married Walter A. Fuss on June 6, 1923, at Scotia. The couple made their home on a farm south of Ord. For the past two months, Mrs. Fuss lived in an Ord care home.
Survivors include two sons, Kenneth of Grand Island and Frank of North Loup; two daughters, Mrs. Harold Gohl of Palatine, Ill., and Mrs. Maxine Williams of Mesa, Ariz.; 11 grandchildren; four brothers, Elmer Bredthauer of Ord, Bill Bredthauer of Lusk, Wyo., Herman Bredthauer of Lincoln and Alvin Bredthauer of Algonquin, Ill., one step-brother, Henry Leindecker; three sisters, Mrs. Lula Kirby of St. Louis, Mo., Mrs. Lillian Smith of Los Angeles, Calif., and Mrs. Dorothy Meyer of Ottawa, Ill., and one step-sister, Mrs., Molly Long of Sepulveda, Calif.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1958, one sister, one brother, two infant sons and one granddaughter.
