Belteshazzar was married to
Amelia Henderson, on Sept. 21, 1854,
in Johnson County Indiana.
Belteshazzar's grandfather,
Belteshazzar Dragoo Jr. came
from Ohio to Johnson County Indiana,
and purchased a land patent from the
U.S. Government in 1825. Over 100 years
later, after four generations of the
Dragoo family had lived on this
farm, the U. S. Government forced his
Great grandson Albert Dragoo, to give
up this farm, to build a U. S. Army
Camp named Camp Atterbury, in 1942

in their "Manuscript and Rare
Books Division" 3 folders containing
photo-copies of numerous letters which
Belteshazzar (who signed his letters
as "B. S." Dragoo),
and his brother
John Nelson Dragoo, wrote home
to their parents and siblings,
during the Civil War.
(And also other misc.).
(Most of the letters are in
folder number one).
Belteshazzar signed these letters
as "B. S." Dragoo.
In the letters written by his brother
John Nelson Dragoo, John refers to
him as "Belt" Dragoo.
