He married Anna Catharina Grimm in 1759 in Northampton County. He was the father of 13 children:

When the Revolutionary War began, Conrad took an Oath of Allegiance to the United States, from Mathias Probst, on September 7, 1777. He enlisted as a Second Class Militiaman in the Northampton County Militia, known as "Frontier Rangers".
In 1795, Conrad sold his farm in Lynn Township, Northampton County, and moved to Toboyne Township in Cumberland County. (After Cumberland County was divided in 1820, this area became Madison Township in the newly created Perry County)
Three years later Conrad was deeply in debt, and hanged himself. He was buried at his farm, near Cisna Run. No grave marker has been found.
