Irene T. (Silvia) Blackwelder, 89, of Lebanon, formerly of Anderson, died Jan. 21, 2016, at Signature Healthcare at Parkwood after an extended illness.

Irene was born Feb. 12, 1926, in Fall River, Massachusetts, to Manuel T. Silvia and Mary Perry.
She was a homemaker.

She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and attended St. Joseph's Catholic Church. She was a member of Daughters of Isabelle and Women's Club of St. Mary's Church. She enjoyed Bingo and socializing.

She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Cindy (Jack) Nolen of Alexandria, La., and Gail (Michael) Scholz of Lebanon; five grandchildren, Melissa Koomler of Anderson, Miles Koomler of Indianapolis, Louissa (Craig) Jasper of Colorado, Sarah (Brandon) Atkins and Jack Nolen III, both of
Louisiana; three great-grandchildren, Neveah Miller, Tre' Miller, and Amari Koomler; godson, Phillip Ford (Justin Miller) of Lebanon.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband of 62 years, Bobby Blackwelder, who died June 4, 2011; a sister, Gilda Corriea; and a brother, Manuel Silvia.

Mass of Christian burial will be 1 p.m. on Monday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 1115 Pearl St.; Anderson, with Monsignor Robert L. Sell III officiating. Burial will follow at East Maplewood Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the service at 1 p.m. at the church. A rosary service will be at 11:30 a.m.
