Fannie R. Dowd, 92, of Crannell died Monday in a Eureka hospital. She was born in Weitchpec and had lived her entire life in this area. She is survived by a son, James Hunter of Weitchpec; two daughters, Mrs. Louise Wider of Weitchpec and Mrs. Mamie Parton of Crannell; two nieces, one nephew, 12 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Paul's Chapel in Arcata with the Rev. Sam Kleinsasser officiating. Interment will follow in the Trinidad cemetery.

In 1920, Fannie was widowed and living in Klamath, CA, with her daughter, Mamie Ryan and grandson, Otto Ryan.

In 1930, Fannie was living in Klamath with her son, James Hunter, daughter Mamie Parton, and grandchildren, Otto Ryan, Randolph Thompson and Gertrude Parton.

Fannie's maiden name was found on her daughter, Mamie's death index record and is confirmed by her headstone.
