Charles married Ida May Pigg in about 1908 (according to information from the 1940 U.S. Federal Census for Jefferson County, Illinois). It is unknown at this point if he was married previously, since he would have been 38 years old when he married Ida.
He and Ida had at least 4 children, all of whom are also buried in Sursa Cemetery. Daughters Rossie and Anna are buried near their parents in the NE corner of the old section of the cemetery, and two sons, Harold, and Charles are buried on the "new side."
Charles was a painter by trade, and died at age 67. He had lived in Jefferson County for 30 years at the time of his death.
