Azalee Adams Lybrand, 91, of 1001 West Main St. died Oct. 19, 2002 after a period of declining health.
A native of the Kelton Community of Union County, she was the daughter of the late Richard and Anna Fowler Adams and widow of Ralph E. Lybrand. She attended Lockhart High School and worked at Union Mill prior to operation and retiring from the "Laundry Mat" on West Main Street. She was a founding member of the Meals on Wheels program of Union County, where she served on the advisory board. She was a member of the Martha Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star, where she had served as a former Grand Matron. She was a member of Duncan Acres United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday school in the children's department for a number of years, was a member of the Mary Lybrand Sunday School Class and served as treasurer of the Louise Brooks Circle of Duncan Acres United Methodist Church.
She was the late surviving member of her immediate family.
The family will receive friends from 7-9 tonight at Holcombe Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Tuesday at Duncan Acres United Methodist Church, conducted by the Rev. Dr. Ralph Bowling. Burial will be in Union Memorial Gardens. The body will be placed in the church one hour prior to the service.
The family is at the home of a niece, the Rev. and Mrs. James Hord, 1005 West Main St., Union, S.C. 29379.
