Arcus E. Hall, 89, of Cherry Street, Waverly, died Friday at his residence.
He was born July 19, 1909 in Flat Fork, Ky., the son of the late James B. Hall and Elizabeth (Conley) Hall. He was a retired crane operator at Mead Corporation of Chillicothe, and was a member of the Regular Primitive Baptist Church since 1939.
He is survived by his wife: Bertha M. (Kennard) Hall, whom he married May 17, 1928; three sons: James B. Hall of Tucson, Ariz., E. Thomas (Marsha) Hall of Cynthiana and L. David (Liz) Hall of Chillicothe; three daughters; Faye Taylor of Cincinnati, Dorothy L. (Robbie) Robinson of Pinola, Cal., Betty L. (Russell) Rice of Latham; 16 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and one great great granddaughter; one brother: Lee Hall of Piketon; two sisters: Caroline Conley of Piketon and Ollie Miller of Dayton; several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers: James, Jack, Charlie, Preston, and Dave Hall; four sisters: Ruie Cutlip, Birdie Conley, Ruby Fuller Leadford, and Josephine Pendleton; two grandsons: John and Rick Taylor and a son-in-law: William Taylor.
Funeral services were held 10:30 a.m. Monday at Boyer Funeral Home with Elder Ulysses Skaggs and Elder Basil Blair officiating. Burial followed in Evergreen Union cemetery.
Visitation was held 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Sunday and 9 a.m. until the service hour on Monday.
