Gordon Allen "Bud" Cornelius, 76, of New Brighton, passed away from complications related to his courageous battle with multiple myeloma, Thursday, January 14, 2016, at Heritage Valley, Beaver.

Born July 8, 1939 in Huntingdon, PA, he was a son of the late Millard and Garnetta Park Cornelius. After high school, he played Huntingdon County League Adult Baseball, and later, coached several sports, mentoring young athletes through little league baseball, adult baseball, and girls' softball leagues. He worked for the Commonwealth of PA where he retired as a respected and knowledgeable Health Care Facilities Inspector. Upon relocating to Beaver County in 2012, he enjoyed bringing happiness by delivering flowers for Snyder's in Beaver. He was a faithful member of Beaver Baptist Church, Brighton Township, served as a member and leader of Community Bible Study, and volunteered at Lincoln Park Performing School of the Arts, Midland. He remained an avid hunter all his life.

Besides his parents, preceding Allen in death was his high school sweetheart and beloved wife, Darlene Wible Cornelius in 1971.
