Charles Buddy Pynes, 81, of Paris, passed away on Monday, January 18, 2016, at his daughter’s home surrounded by his family. Buddy was born on March 8, 1934 to Clifford Pynes and Lorette Bledsoe Pynes.

He attended school in Cunningham where he earned the nickname “Foots.” He was an avid athlete and loved playing basketball and baseball. After high school, he joined the United States Army and spent the next three years in Baltimore, Maryland. He then returned to Paris and began his career at Babcock and Wilcox. After 38 years he retired in 1996. His proudest accomplishments were his four children-Donna, Dennis, Dorty and DeLisa. He spent his retirement years watching his grandchildren and great-grandchildren grow up. His hobbies included playing dominoes and chewing tobacco. He always had a red Solo cup to spit in. He also enjoying keeping up with the Dallas Mavericks, the Texas Rangers and the Dallas Cowboys. Those who knew Buddy the most will remember his kind heart.

He is survived by his children, Donna Spencer & husband Jim, Dorty Pynes of Paris, Lisa Slagle of Grapevine, and the mother of his children, Nell Peel. He was “Papa” to his grandchildren, Brandon Moore and wife Jennifer, Fair Shae Guest and husband Jerad, Trey Gifford and wife Nicole, Justin Pynes and wife Jenna, Bailee & Jaiden Pynes and Madison Slagle, great grandchildren, Harmony Hamil, Ruscha & Jagger Moore, McKenna & Brecken Guest, Kenneth Paul & expecting Grayson Gifford, Parker and Jaxon Pynes. He is also survived by his sisters, Sue Pynes of Paris and Dean Ogden of Longview.

Buddy has been reunited with his parents and his son, Dennis Pynes.

Funeral services will be Thursday, January 21, 2016 at 2pm in the Fry-Gibbs Chapel. Interment will follow at Cunningham Restland Memorial Park.
