A native of Caswell County, he was the son of the late Robert Elisha and Martha "Pattie" Walker Apple and husband of Shirley Gann Apple who survives. George was a member of Burlington Assembly of God and a member of the church mens mission team. He was a machinist and a finish carpenter for residential and commercial construction.
George was a loving, kind and gentle man. His faith in God was his first priority in life and followed by his devotion to his family and friends. He was an avid gardener and enjoyed woodworking as a hobby.
He was preceded in death by his parents and 4 brothers and 3 sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm on Wednesday, January 13, 2016 at Burlington Assembly of God by Rev. Bryan Rainbow and Rev. Howard Thompson. Interment will follow in Alamance Memorial Park.
