Gertrude Dykstra services held
Funeral services for Gertrude Dykstra were held April 5, at the First Reformed church.
Miss Dykstra died April 2, at the Orange City hospital after a 2½ month illness.
She came from the Netherlands as a small child with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. E. Dykstra.
Miss Dykstra was born November 11, 1891.
She and her family first settled near Alton, later moving to Orange City. Miss Dykstra taught school for several years.
Rev. R. Van Heukelom officiated at the services. Music was furnished by Mrs. Lloyd De Jong and Mrs. Steve Ekdom, accompanied by Mrs. Harold Paekel.
Pallbearers were Frank Popma, Ike Van Klompenburg, Paul Colenbrander, Carl Pennings, Nick Wielenga and Ring De Jager. Interment was in the Orange City cemetery with Van Etten Funeral Home in charge.
Survivors include two nephews in Calif., on in Battle Creek, Mich., two nieces near Sheldon and one niece in Grand Rapids, Mich.
