William Van Steenwyk, 88, Sheldon, died June 6 at the Sheldon hospital.
Services were at 1 p.m. June 10 at the Vander Ploeg Funeral Home, with the Rev. Richard Groenhout officiating. Burial was in West Lawn Cemetery at Orange City.
Mr. Van Steenwyk was born May 15, 1888, in Orange City.
He married Clara Dykstra Feb. 9, 1911. She died Aug. 10, 1935. He married Minnie Lacey May 2, 1973.
Mr. Van Steenwyk was a retired tarmer.
Survivors include the widow; two sons, William of Bellflower, Calif., and Alvin of Lakewood, Calif.; two daughters, Mrs. Dick (Nelvina) Veen of Sibley and Mrs. John (Ella Mae) Boone of Sheldon; a sister, Mrs. James (Etta) Sorgdrager of LeMars; 18 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.
