Funeral services were held Wednesday morning at the Van Etten Funeral Home for Arnold Herwynen, 88, who passed away Sunday afternon at the Ashton Nursing Home where he had been a patient for the past eight years.
Mr. Herwynen was born in this vicinity Jan. 15, 1878 and continued to reside in this area until moving to the Ashton Home.
Surviving are three half brothers, Arnold Van Steenwyk, Le Mars; Abram Van Steenwyk, Columbus, Ohio, and William Van Steenwyk, Orange City; also one half sister, Mrs. Etta Sorgdrager, Ireton.
Preceding him in death were his two brothers, Isaac and Dick Herwynen of Orange City, several years ago. Burial was at Westlawn cemetery.
