Mr. Press Combs, 84, of Route 1, Pendleton, died Wednesday, August 22nd at the King's Daughters Hospital, Shelbyville. He was a retired coal miner; a native of Perry County; and a member of the Chaires Baptist Church in Perry County.
He is survived by seven daughters: Mrs. Richard (Helen) Duff, London; Mrs. Bob (Hester) Abbott, Pendleton; Mrs. Sam (Martha ) Abbott, Route 1, Pendleton; Mrs. Kermit (Margie) Williams, Owenton; Mrs. Willard (Ollie Sue) Perry, Owenton; Mrs. Alice Goodrich, Gratz and Mrs. Steve (Ethel) Lynn, Louisville; four sons: Ernest Combs, Jericho; Ottis Combs, Louisville; Herschel (Dub) Combs and Ceasor Combs, both of Owneton; two half sisters: Mrs. Mahala Eversole, Lockport and Mrs. Hanford (Lillie) Smith, Flint Ledge, Michigan; one half brother: Jeff Combs, Underwood, Indiana; 57 grandchildren; 72 great-grandchildren and 14 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Friday, August 24th from Prewitt's, New Castle. Tim Rutherford, pastor of the Graceway Baptist Church in Owenton, officiated. Interment was in the Point Pleasant Cemetery.
