~~Amarillo Sunday News & Globe Times - April 1929 Mrs. Emily Richards Rites This Afternoon Rev. G.L. Yates, pastor of the First Baptist Church will officiate at the funeral rites to beheld at 3 o'clock this afternoon for Mrs. Emily Richards, 70 years old, who died at 7 o'clock Friday morning. Services will be held from the home of her daughter Mrs. H.T. (Ola) Cornelius at 902 Adams Street. Emily was born in Cleveland Tennessee to Elizabeth and George B. Wilson in 1859. She was married to John L. Richards in 1877 in Bradley Co., Cleveland, Tennessee. She is survived by two daughters, Ola Cornelius and Phenia Wallace of Amarillo. Two sons, Wilford M. Richards and Claud L. Richards of Oklahoma. She was preceded in death by her husband John L. Richards of Arkansas. And sons, Lee Richards and William Richards both buried in Tulsa Oklahoma. Pall Bearers will be Amos McBride, Frank Howard, H.G. Maxfield, Herbert Johnson, Clyde Miler, Fred E Young. Interment will follow in Llano Cemetery under the direction of N.S. Griggs & Sons.
