WEWOKA – Funeral services for McArthur Bruner, the brother of Wewoka resident, are scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday at Macedonia Baptist Church. Rev. Wilbur Bruner is set to officiate.Burial is to follow at Leader Cemetery in Stonewall under the direction of Myers Mortuary.Bruner died Saturday, Jan. 29, 2001 at his home in Oklahoma City at the age of 59. He was born Nov. 9, 1942 to Charley and Pernie Bruner in Ada where lived until moving to Oklahoma City in 1976. He worked as an auto mechanic for 40 years in Oklahoma City and retired from the Housing Authority of Oklahoma City.

Bruner was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Joby, Vernon and Bobby Gene Bruner; and three sisters, Alice Byrd and Betty and Stella Bruner. He is survived by four brothers, [Redacted], all of Oklahoma City and [Redacted]of Wewoka; 10 sisters, [Redacted, there were only 9 names listed]

McArthur "Mack" Bruner passed away December 29, 2001. He was born November 9, 1942 in the Leader Community to Charley Bruner Pernie (Colbert) Bruner. He was reared in Wewoka, Oklahoma and attended Nobletown, Johnson Grove and Douglass High School. At an early age he united with the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church and was baptized. After moving to Oklahoma City, he united with the Mt. Calvary Baptist Church under the leadership of Minister Wilbur Bruner. Mack enjoyed working on cars, hunting, fishing and sitting around talking about old times. He worked for the First National Bank in downtown Oklahoma City for many years. He was also a very good auto mechanic. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and three sisters. Survivors include four brothers, [Redacted], all of Oklahoma City, and [Redacted]of Wewoka; ten sisters, [Redacted 5 names] all of Wewoka, and [Redacted 5 more names] all of Oklahoma City; 61 nieces and nephews, a host of great-nieces and great-nephews, two uncles, four aunts and a host of cousins, a very special friend, [Redacted] and a host of friends.
