TWO KILLED IN ACCIDENT
Two others Seriously Injured in Road Mishap on Ky 80 near Martin

Two men were killed and two other persons were seriously injured, shortly after midnight Saturday when one automobile struck a bridge at Martin and carreened out of control into another; the dead; Adrian Allen Dingus, 24, of Martin and Clarence A Click, 53 of Langley. Injured were Irene Sammons age about 28 of Martin victiny and Cecil Meadows, 24 also of Martin. Both Dingus and Click were killed instantly.
Witnesses told State Trooper Hatton and Martin Policeman A.J. Reed, who investigated the tragedy, that the 1957 Mercury occupied by the two young men was driven at high speed, returning toward Martin from a trip of a few minutes up Ky 80. Skid marks were observed, it was said, approximately 150 feet up the side of the highway from the bridge. The car hit the bridge abutment, then apparently skidded and rolled sidewise across the bridge, meeting the car driven by Click head -on.
It was not established who was driving the car occupied by Dingus and Meadows. The car was stripped of its body and was described as the most totally wrecked car seen in this county.
Dingus was thrown from the car. Meadows, owner of the auto, was jammed inside, The former died of a skull fracture, a broken neck and numerous other injuries. Click's neck was broken.
Dingus is survived by his parents Kelly and Anna Flanery Dingus of Martin; his widow, Mrs Vivian Evans Dingus and two children, Karla Lynn and Lisa Devon of Martin and the following brothers and sisters James Oliver Dingus of Martin Colin Kelly Dingus of the U.S. Navy, Mrs Alka Smith, Los Angeles, CA, Mrs Naomi Combs, Van Nuys CA Mrs Mary Lois Baldridge, Ralph Waldo Dingus, Misses Yvonne and Ruth Marie Dingus, all of Martin.
His funeral, awaiting the arrival of his brother from Hawaii was held Wddnesday afternoon from the Auditorium of Martin High School, the Rev Robert Martin offisiating. Burial was made in the Dingus family cemetery at Dinwood under the direction of the Hall Brothers Funeral Home.
