Fisherman. Son of Philip and Sarah (Hendley) Ashton. Bpt 18 Apr 1703 at Marblehead (C.R.1) Death recorded in Marblehead Records for year 1746, V2, p. 478 and in Church Records. There is a Marblehead Probate Record dated 5 August 1746 (Marblehead Probate, Essex County Cases, Case #925).
Philip Married 1) Jane Gallison at Marblehead 8 Dec 1726 when she was abt 17 years old. (Marblehead Recs V2, p 16.) Marr 2) Sarah Bartlett at Marblehead 15 July 1729, dau of William and Sarah (Purchase) Bartlett. (Marblehead Recs V2, p 16). Sarah was born in Marblehead 27 Aug 1704, bpt. 24 Sept 1704 (CR1), but her date of death is not known.

Flemming, publ 2014, University Press of New England, Lebanon, NH. In 1725, Philip wrote an account of his ordeal, on which the
book is based.
