Andrew “Andy” Walter Addie of Spencer passed away at his home on Saturday, January 2, 2016 at the age of 75.

Andy was born in Ellettsville on November 10, 1940. He was the son of the late Walter and Anna (Hoppe) Addie. He was married to his late wife, Barbara Addie for 50 years. Andy was employed by Owen Litho, White Arts, and the Spencer Evening World where he ran the folding machine. He enjoyed playing euchre, visiting sugar shacks and watching maple syrup being made, and dancing at the Country Palace. Andy, an avid fisherman and hunter, also enjoyed shooting at the conservation club, lovingly earning the title of the All-American Outdoorsman by his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Barbara Kay Addie (2013); two brothers; and one sister.

Andy is survived by his children, Lea Kay Sherfield (Tim) of Bloomington, Mechelle Denise Phillips of Spencer, and Scott Andrew Addie (Susan) of Gosport; grandchildren, Anthony Scott Addie (Jazmyne Flynn-Addie) of Gosport, Casey Jo Phillips of Spencer, Shelby Kay (Sherfield) Grubb of Bloomington, Whitney MaKay Addie of Gosport, Savanah Malarie Addie of Gosport, and Destiny Dawn Sherfield of Bloomington; great-granddaughter, Marley Kay; and several nieces and nephews that Andy grew up with.

Funeral services will be held at Chandler Funeral Home in Ellettsville on Friday, January 8, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. with Brother Jeff Parker officiating. Burial is to follow at Methodist Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thursday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and again one hour prior to the services on Friday.
