Roy N. Lane, the son of Josephine Houston and Newton Lane was born May 9, 1891 at home east of Booneville, Iowa and passed away July 4, 1977 at his home in the Winterset Care Center South, Winterset, Iowa.

In 1910 he was united in marriage to Nina Reid. To this union two childern were born.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, four sisters, his son Lawrence, and three great grandchildren.

Roy is survived by his wife Nina of Winterset, Iowa, daughter Mrs. Robert (Mary) Allen of Booneville, seven grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren.

For many years Roy farmed south of Booneville, from here they moved to Polk City, Iowa, Liberty Center, Iowa, Rippey, Iowa, Grand Junction, Iowa, Adel and Winterset. he had been in poor health for the last eight years. While living in Grand Junction, he and his wife celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. Their 65th wedding anniversary was celebrated in Winterset.
