Mrs. Kate Thyson Marr Dead
Former Resident of Washington and Member of Prominent Family
Mrs. Kate Thyson Marr, daughter of an old Washington family, died this morning suddenly in New York, where she had lived for a number of years past.

Kate Thyson, the daughter of Paulus and Parthenia Thyson, prominent antebellum residents of the National capital, was born in this city and received her education at the Emmitsburg, Maryland convent. She was a gifted girl and a half century ago was a reigning belle. About the close of the Civil War she met General Barry of the staff of General Sherman at General Sherman’s home in this city and later became his wife. After his death she again married, becoming the wife of Alonzo Marr, who resided here and was prominent in real estate circles twenty-five years ago.

A number of years ago Mrs. Marr went to New York and engaged in literary work and was so employed when she died. She was the author of several novels of interest and was an accomplished musician. Her many friends will regret to hear of her death.
