Mrs. Bessie Pelfrey, age 77, of Hall Station Road, Adairsville passed away Monday, December 21, 2015 at her residence.
She was born in Heard County, March 27, 1938. She was a member of the First Christian Church of Adairsville. An exceptionally gifted artist, she was well known locally for her paintings but was talented in many other art forms. She was a skillful flower gardener transforming the landscapes of many yards in to a beautiful utopia. Her main love in life was her family; she cherished her husband, daughter, grandson, and great-grandson to the fullest. She was preceded in death by her parents and loving husband, Jerry Fain Pelfrey.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Tina and Dud Barton of Adairsville; grandchildren, Jacob and Anna Bunch of Adairsville, R.D., Jessica, and Jennifer Barton of FL; great-grandsons, Fain Edward Bunch of Adairsville and Shawn Barton of FL; sisters-in-law, Brenda and Richard Cowart of Adairsville and Millie Pelfrey of AL; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held from the chapel of Barton Funeral Home, Wednesday, December 23 at 2:00 P.M. with Min. Danny Pelfrey officiating. Interment will follow in Eastview Cemetery, Adairsville. Pallbearers will be her nephews, Brian Cowart, Jaden Cowart, Steve Cowart, Randy Baggett, Scott Pelfrey, and Randy Bramblett.
The family will receive friends at Barton Funeral Home, Tuesday evening from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
