Thadeus E. Butler, 74, a retired farmer, died yesterday morning after a heart attack at his home near Star City. Mr. Butler was a lifelong resident of Lincoln County. He was a Baptist.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Thomas Butler of Star City and Holland Butler of Portland, Ore,; five daughters, Mrs. Hugh Roberson of Gould, Mrs. Jim Crews of Pickens, Mrs. Hallie Holloway of Pine Bluff, Mrs. W. F. Jordan of Denver, Col., and Mrs. Ernest Voring of Seattle, Wash.; five brothers, Alvin, Ivison and Grover Butler of Star City and Bruce and Virgil Butler of Pine Bluff; five sisters, Mrs. Estel Clary, Mrs. Tom O'Neal, Mrs. Clyde Fish, Mrs. Joe Womack and Mrs. Emma Lee Copeland of Star City; 14 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the South Side Baptist Church at Star City by the Rev. Emory Yarbrough. Burial will be at Jones Cemetery by Dyer Funeral Home.
