WALTER NEWTON WHIPP, well-known resident of Church Hill, died t his home Sunday after an immediate illness of 3 days, aged 62 years. He was a son of Mrs. Mary J.R. Myers Whipp and the late Daniel M. Whipp, of Church Hill.
He was a member of St. Matthews Lutheran church and an elder in the church.
Surviving are his mother; his wife, Mrs. Mary J. Reeder Whipp; son, Roscoe N. Whipp, Rockville; four sisters, Mrs. Harvey L. Zimmerman, Church Hill; Mrs. Howard Boyer, Mrs. Carrie Easterday, Feagaville; Mrs. Raymond Corum, Jefferson; four brothers, Emory Whipp, Feagaville; Stanley D. Whipp, Boyds; Clarence Whipp, Baltimore; Harry Whipp, Church Hill; and two grandchildren.
Services were held at the M.R. Etchison and Son funeral home; interment in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
