My gg grandfather is the son of David and Cynthia Mabray. Jasper was a pioneer settler of Texas, veteran of the Mexican War and member of the Texas Rangers. He was one of the organizers of Bosque County and served as the first county clerk. He also suggested the name Meridian which was adopted for the town name, county seat of Bosque County.
He married Mary Ann Hudson on 27 Nov 1851 in Rusk Co TX. His daughter Martha, my great grandmother, 1852-1935, was the first white child born in Bosque County.
