Benjamin Bacher, age 80, of Aurora, Mo., passed away on Saturday, Sept. 2, 2006. He was born December 23, 1925, in Verona, Mo., to Fred and Leona (Henke) Bacher.

He was a loving husband to Mildred (Walker) for 51 years and a devoted father to sons, Bruce and Eric, and daughter Jane, who preceded him in death.

Ben retired from the Missouri Highway and Transportation Department after 21 years of service.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Martin, Daniel, and David; his sisters, Hilda Zackert, Louise Hulen, Mary Bacher, and Margaret Bacher.

His survivors include his wife, Mildred, of the home; his son Bruce and his wife Jan, and grandsons David and Bryan of Broken Arrow, Okla.; and his son Eric and his wife Jeanette of Aurora. He is also survived by his brother Joe Bacher and sister Ruth Cline, both of Kansas City, Mo., and many sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, and close friends.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 5 in Peterson Funeral Chapel in Aurora. Visitation will be at 7 p.m. today in the funeral chapel. Burial will be in Maple Park Cemetery immediately following the service. (SPRINGFIELD NEWS LEADER)
