Per contributor Lyndon Comstock: Alfred Grigsby enlisted in the 119th USCT on April 10, 1865 at Camp Nelson. He died of smallpox in a military hospital in Louisville. He proceeded directly from slavery to the war against slavery. Per his service records, he was owned by Lewis Grigsby at the time of his enlistment.
