Ireta was born Jan. 14, 1918, in Simms to Rufus and Lois Burns. She was the eldest of four children. For many years she was a career civil service employee and served during and after World War II in Cairo, Egypt, and Frankfurt, Germany, where she met her husband of 58 years, and began a second career as an Air Force wife. She was a member of St. Patrick's Cathedral, Fort Worth, and a former member of St. Matthew's Cathedral, Washington, D.C. She was a member of Colonial Country Club and was a former member of the Petroleum Club, Ridglea Country Club and the Hyannis Yacht Club in Hyannis, Mass.
Ireta was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Jameson; sister, Juanita Chaput; and her brothers, Joe and Ted Burns.
Survivors: Son, Dr. Stephen Jameson and his wife, Katherine, of The Plains, Va.; daughter, Bridget Regina Jameson Rogier and her husband, James Rogier, of Epping, N.H.; and granddaughters, Sara Jameson and Julia Jameson.
