Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. on Monday at St. Benedict’s Catholic Church in Avon. Arrangements are with Daniel Funeral Home, St. Cloud.
Lorraine was born August 7, 1928 in St. Anthony, Minnesota to the late Joseph and Gertrude (Ostendorf) Cherne. She married Amor Joseph Himsl on April 19, 1949 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in St. Anthony. Lorraine was a loving wife of 63 years and a dedicated mother who worked alongside Amor on their farm in the Avon/Collegeville area. She was a member of St. Benedict’s Parish.
Lorraine enjoyed spending time in her gardens, quilting, baking, playing cards with family and above all treasured spending time with her family. She will be remembered as a very loving wife, mother and grandmother who will be dearly missed.
Lorraine is survived by her children, Joyce (Jim) Vos of Sauk Rapids, Joel Himsl of Moline, Illinois, Amor P. (Deb) Himsl of Sauk Centre, Jayne (Dennis) Hoffarth of Maple Grove and Frank (Karla) Himsl of Avon, 14 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Amor in 2012; brothers, Joseph, Tony and Lambert Cherne; and sisters, Lidwina Bueckers, Valeria Mareck, Irene Breth, Marcella Soihr and Evelyn Hetzer.
