Funeral services were held at 4 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 26, in the chapel at Melton-Riddle Funeral Home with the Revs. Ray McCall and Sherrill Ammons officiating. Burial was in Hooper Cemetery in Speedwell with honors conducted by the Jackson County Sheriff's Department.
A native and lifelong resident of Jackson County, she worked for the Jackson County Sheriff's Department in the Detention Center. She was a 1971 graduate of Sylva-Webster High School and was a member of Locust Field Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy Dale Ashe, who died in 2000.
Surviving are two daughters, April Dawn Ashe Mayer and Erica Leann Ashe Bullock, both of Sylva; one son, Joshua Brandon Ashe of Sylva; her parents, Bill and Betty Hensley Greene of Sylva; one sister, Doris Greene Melton of Sylva; and four grandchildren.
