Obituary for Milton Edwin Long

Mr. Milton Edwin Long, 95, passed away peacefully at his home, November 23, 2015. He was born in Forsyth County to the late Benson Augustus and Alice Moser Long. Milton was a talented carpenter by trade. He loved hunting and fishing in his spare time, as well as guitar picking “Chet Atkins” style. He was well known as a compassionate care-giver for those in need. Milton was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend to those who knew him, and will dearly be missed. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jesse Irene Patterson long. He is survived by his six sons; Dwight (Sylvia) Long, Dennis (Darlene) Long, William (Brenda) Long, Melvin (Judy) Long, James (Linda) Long, and Gray “Jessie” Long. In addition, there are eight grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be conducted 11:00 AM Wednesday, November 25, 2015 at Hayworth-Miller in Rural Hall with Rev. Ray Long officiating. Interment will follow at Crestview Memorial Park, 6850 University Parkway, Rural Hall, NC. The family will receive friends 6 P.M. to 8 P.M.
