Roy J. Anderson, 76, of Tall Timbers Village, Factoryville, formerly of Tunkhannock, died Friday morning November 4, 2005 at home.
He was born in Tunkhannock, May 2, 1929, a son of the late Miles and Beulah Mae (Vandermark) Anderson.
He is married to the former Gladys Burgess Linney for two and a half years.
He was formerly a school bus driver for Tunkhannock schools and managed gas stations in Tunkhannock.
He attended the East Lemon United Methodist Church. He was a graduate of Tunkhannock High School, class of 1948, and served in the Army during the Korean Conflict at the Pentagon.
He enjoyed reading and doing crossword puzzles, and loved to spend time with his family.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Edward and Robert; four sisters, Naomi Wilsey, Ruth Hartman, Emma and Ann Mae Anderson.
Also surviving are a daughter, Teresa Gannon, Tunkhannock; two sons, Roger and wife, Cheryl, Tucson, Ariz.; Eric and wife, Robyn, Tunkhannock; four stepsons, Jeff Talcott and wife, Sandy, Florida; Richard Linney and wife, Wendy, Factoryville; Dean Linney and wife, Linda, Factoryville; James Linney and wife, Denise, Ransom; two step-daughters, Debra Klecha, Factoryville; Marlene Linney, Scranton; six brothers, Miles Jr., John, Ralph and Lyle, Tunkhannock; Nelson, Easton; and Raymond, Meshoppen; four sisters, Lois Button, Dallas; Shirley Weaver, Montana; Beulah Barron, Washington, N.J.; Thelma Anderson, Scranton; seven grandchildren; 24 step-grandchildren; 13 step-great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday from Harding-Litwin Funeral Home, 123 W. Tioga St., Tunkhannock, with services by the Rev. John Schaffer. Interment will be in Overfield Cemetery, Meshoppen.
Friends may call from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday.
Memorial contributions may be made to Tyler Memorial Hospital, Rt. 6, West Tunkhannock.
