Jenny Mae retired in 1975 from Wundies after 10 years of service. She was an avid bingo player, enjoyed NASCAR and cooking.
She was a loving mother and grandmother who was truly loved and will be sadly missed.
Born Jan. 9, 1922 in Williamsport, she was the daughter of Lawrence H. and Florence E. Sawyer Snyder. (Her Social Security record lists her father as Albert C. Shumbat and her mother was Mary Elizabeth "Shnyder" Shumbat. She was living with them in the 1930 census & in the 1940 census as their adopted daughter. She is also listed living with Laurence's ex-wife, Florence Sawyer in the 1940 census as her daughter. Mary lists Jeannette as her daughter in her obituary. Laurence H. Snyder was the brother of Mary Elizabeth Shnyder and he also lists her as his daughter. )
She was the devoted mother of sons, George A. (Takako) of Belton, Texas, Ernest C., Kenneth E. (Sherry), Terry L. (Cheryl) and John E. all of Williamsport; sister, Edith M. Chaplin of Towanda, 10 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.
Jenny Mae was predeceased by a grandson, Ernest Cochran Jr.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Knight-Confer's, 1914 Memorial Ave., with the Rev. James R. Sunderland Jr. officiating. There will be a visitation from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Buchanan Cemetery, Old Lycoming Twp.
