Atlanta Constitution, 4 Nov 1875

On last Tuesday, Mr. D. L. Hill, formerly general agent of the Florence and Howe company, in this city, died at his residence on Washington street, Greenville, S. C. His remains were brought to this city yesterday and were laid in state at teh residence of his father-in-law, Mr. James Caldwell.

The funeral took place yesterday at three o'clock, the funeral services being conducted by Rev. W. F. Cook, at Trinity church. The Knights Templar of this city actec as escort. At the grave the services were of a very impressive character.

Mr. Hill's father, who lives in Michigan, arrived just in time to be recognized by his son. It was a sad meeting, as the old gentleman was expecting a visit shortly from his son and daughter-in-law. But God willed it otherwise.

The deceased leaves a wife and two interesting children.
