Nicola was an Italian immigrant from Alberona who arrived on the ship "Patria" to the United States through Ellis Island on 29 Apr 1901. He was 16 years old at arrival, and resided for a while with his uncle on Broad Street in Albany, New York. He was a tailor by trade and married Lucia (Lucy) Viola Fiscarelli. They had five children Rose, Mary, Margaret (aka Marguerite Theresa Fiscarelli Cioffi), Louis, and Paulina. He has numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren, many of whom still reside in New York State.
