Harry E. Buckley, Jr. passed through the Gates of Heaven August 26 in Hanover.

He was the son of Dorothy (Bentzel) Buckley of Hanover and the late Harry E., Buckley, Sr.

Harry recently retired from R.H. Sheppard Company in Hanover where he was employed as an inspector. He was honored to be involved as a founding member of the Carpenter's Workshop Fellowship in Spring Grove. Harry served his country with pride in the United States Marine Corps and was a veteran of the Vietnam Conflict. As a former member St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hanover, he served in the St. Joseph Holy Name Society and on the church Advisory Board. He was a former member of the Knights of Columbus, fourth degree in Hanover, a former Cub Scout Leader for Pack #103 in Hanover;, and for many years, he was a member of the Industrial Management Club in Hanover.

Harry is survived by his former but loving wife, Joan D. (Walter) Buckley of Hanover, who cared for him throughout his illness; seven children, Matthew Buckley, and his wife, Lisa, of Gettysburg, Michael Buckley, and his wife, Kim, of McSherrystown, Mitchel Buckley of Spring Grove, Melissa Trimmer, and her husband, Bill, of Dover, Melanie Brown of Hanover, and Marisa Buckley and Melody Buckley both of Spring Grove; eight grandchildren; two brothers, Robert Buckley of Hanover, and Joel Buckley of Hershey; four sisters, Janet Buckley of Hummels Wharf, Patricia Carr and Carole Myers, both of Hanover, and Jacqueline Glass of Tracey, CA.
