Family and friends will gather to celebrate the life of Randy Mitchell, 66, of Lubbock from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, Feb. 27, 2015, at Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers. Services will be at 2 p.m. also at Lake Ridge Chapel on Saturday, Feb. 28, 2015. Our beloved husband, father, son, brother, and Pop Pop went to be with the Lord on Feb. 24, 2015, at his home. Randy was born on Oct. 3, 1948, in Hobart, OK, to Bill and Jean Mitchell. Moving to Lubbock at age three, Randy graduated from Coronado High School and attended Texas Tech University. He married Peggy Grantham on Aug. 8, 1970, in Lubbock. Randy worked as a sales rep for several different food companies, including Beatrice Hunt-Wesson and T-Bar and Tower, Foods. Randy received the Top of Texas Award for sales in 1994. Randy and Peggy built and opened Perfect Peace Assisted Living Facility and operated it for 22 years. Randy enjoyed golf and was an avid Texas Tech fan. He enjoyed maintaining a beautifully manicured lawn and found great peace on a riding lawnmower. Randy was a family man and his passion in life was his family and being Pop Pop to his five granddaughters. Randy was preceded in death by his mother, Jean Mitchell. He is survived by his wife, Peggy Mitchell; three children, Brandon Mitchell, Alicia (Jon) Matthews, and Tiffany (Mike) Spano; five granddaughters; his father, Bill Mitchell; a sister, Pam Mitchell; and a brother, Mike (Kelly) Mitchell, all of Lubbock. Memorials in Randy's honor are requested to Shepherd's House Assisted Living, (formerly Perfect Peace), 8824 FM 1585, Wolfforth, Texas, 79382.
