Schuyler Branscum was born June 26, 1909 in Wayne County and departed this life Saturday, November 8 at Britthaven Nursing Home in Somerset, reaching the age of 77 years, 4 months and 13 days.
Surviving are three sisters, Cora Thornton, Sue Walston and Alpha Hammond; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and many other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Wesley and Dovie Phillips Branscum, one brother, Theodore Branscum and three sisters, Vadie Hammond, Charity New and Madge Branscum.
He was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church where he remained a faithful member as long as his health permitted.
Funeral services were held Nov. 10th with burial in the New Salem Baptist Church Cemetery.
