Jesse Dostaler, of Cochrane, Alberta was taken from us on Thursday, July 16th in a tragic accident. His loss is deeply felt by parents Frank and Dawn Dostaler, sister Drew, brother Keath and closest friends Allie Neill and Brianna Sandau.

Jesse enjoyed the outdoors, campfires and spending time with friends who were like family. He was an inspiration and best friend to his sister, who in turn took care of him. He never let his brother outgrow an affectionate nickname of “Chubs.” A fierce defender of personal freedom and passionate supporter of the LBGTQ community, Jesse inspired many to stand up for their rights. He loved music and Japan, movies and art, textiles and philosophy and sleeping – perhaps most of all. Jesse was a strong-willed soul with a beautiful edge.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Rockpointe Church (255024 Lochend Rd) on Thursday, July 23rd, 2015. Seating begins at 1:00 pm; service 1:30 pm. Jesse eschewed tradition; in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Camp fYrefly (www.fyrefly.ualberta.ca/SupportfYrefly). Photos, stories and condolences may be shared with Jesse’s family through www.choicememorial.com. Arrangements entrusted to the care of Choice Memorial Cremation & Funeral Services (403) 277-7343
