Susanna Herding, 92 of Hankinson, ND passed away Sunday, November 22, 2015 at St. Gerards Community of Care, Hankinson, ND. Funeral mass will be Wednesday, November 25, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Philips Catholic Church, Hankinson, ND with Fr. Scott Sautner as celebrant. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery, Hankinson, Visitation will be Tuesday, November 24, 2015 from 5-7 pm with a prayer service at 7:00 pm at the Frank Family Funeral Home, Hankinson, ND. There will also be visitation one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday. Pallbearers are her grandsons: Brad Mattson, Terry Mattson, Jeff Heley, Mike Rolstad, Kevin Rolstad, Darren Rolstad, Jeremy Mattson, Travis Mattson, Bill Illies & Norb Illies. Honorary pallbearers are her granddaughters, great grandchildren & great-great grandchildren. Organist will be Mary Ellen Krump with special music by St. Philips Choir.

Susanna Bach Herding was the daughter of Louis Bach and Anna Differding. Susie was born September 10, 1923 in LaMars Township near Hankinson, ND. At a young age she moved to a farm west of Fairmount with her parents and went to country school in DeVillo Township. In 1939 she met her husband Louis Herding. They married on November 26, 1940 at St. Anthonys Catholic Church in Fairmount, ND. Louis and Susie were blessed with 7 children: Joseph, Joan, Carol, Darlene, Joyce, Mary and Diane. Susie enjoyed many things over the years including ceramics, yardwork, tending to her flowers, bowling, cake decorating, shopping, spending time with her family and going out for a good cup of coffee with her best friend Mary Ann Vellenga. Susie was a member of St. Philips Catholic Church, Hankinson, ND and a member of the Ladies Guild.

Susie will be greatly missed by all who loved her and is survived by her daughters: Carol Rolstad, Darlene (Pat) Illies, Mary Mattson, and Diane (Bob) Mattson, 20 grandchildren, 37 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren; 2 sisters: Marie (Herb) Beyer and Loretta (Leo) Althoff; her brother: John (Joy) Bach; her sisters-in-law: Joyce Bach and Bernadine (Delmer) Muehler and her brother-in-law: Donald Leinen.

Susie was preceded in death by her husband: Louis Herding; an infant son: Joseph Herding; daughters: Joan Griffith and Joyce Heley; her parents: Louis and Anna Bach; her sisters: Margaret Leinen and Dorothy Schreiber; her brothers: Lawrence Bach and Frank Bach; a grandson: Jason Mattson and a great grandson: Colby Gaukler.
