Sweetwater - R. L. Rowland, 86, longtime resident of the Sweetwater area, died Saturday at his home.
Services are set for 2 p.m. today at West Side Baptist Church with burial in Sweetwater Cemetery under direction of Cate-Spencer Funeral Home.
Mr. Rowland was born in Canaan, Miss. on Aug. 7, 1883 {sic]. He moved to Texas with his family as a child. He lived in Blackwell and Longworth before moving to Sweetwater nine years ago.
Survivors include his wife; five daughters, Mrs. J. W. Williams of Roby, Mrs. Albert Neves of Levelland, Mrs. Joe Ross of Seymour, Mrs. E. L. Dorsey of Fort Worth and Mrs. Don Kenneally of Honolulu, Hawaii; a son, Charles Rowland of Anaheim, Calif.; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
