Elsie Annie Flint, 94, long time resident of Madill, Okla., passed away on Wednesday, June 9, 2004, at the Integris Marshall County Medical Center in Madill.
She was born Oct. 21, 1909, in Llano, Texas to the late Edgar Milton and Annie Jane Mansell Casper. Elsie grew up in Llano. In 1958, she moved to Madill from Sweetwater, Texas.
Elsie married Jake Anton Flint in Llano on Aug. 12, 1925. He preceded her in death on Feb. 28, 1962. Elsie retired from Busy Bee Cleaners after 32 years of employment. She was a member of the Oakview Baptist Church and a former member of the Madill Roundup Club. Elsie enjoyed family, church activities and teaching Sunday School.
She is survived by one son, J.A. Flint of Holdenville, Okla.; two daughters, Hazel Holladay of Wichita Falls, Texas and Shirley Orr of Madill; 20 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two daughters, Antonette Murphree and Rae Morgan; one son, Billy Joe Flint; and two grandchildren, Phyllis Kay Flint and Ruby Ann Flint.
Funeral services were held Saturday, June 12, 2004, at 2:30 p.m. at the Oakview Baptist Church in Oakland, Okla. Terry Nathan Terry and Boyce Moon officiated the service. Music was arranged by Bill Buck, Vickie Arnold, Randy Meeks, Virginia Dugan and Alisia Self. Internment wwill be at Sweetwater Cemetery in Sweetwater on Monday, June 14, 2004, at 2 p.m. under the direction of Watts Funeral Home of Madill.
Casket bearers will be Rayburn Holladay, Donald Flint, Davis Orr, Dennis Orr, Phillip Orr, Billy Joe Flint, Jr. and Dale Murphree.
Honorary casket bearers will be Douglas Flint, Dr. Greg Martens and Billy Joe Wise.
Memorials to be made to the activities department at Brookside Manor, Royal Crest Hospice and Feed the Birds at Oakview Baptist Church.
